GOSPEL of CHRIST
The Gospel of Christ is based on the “Great Commission”. There are many people who would argue that Matthew 28:19-20 is the only scripture that gives us the Great Commission. However, this is only a “snapshot” of it, and we must take into consideration the other two scriptures (Mark 16:14-16 and Luke 24:36-53) to get the “Big Picture” of what Jesus wanted us to understand and do. (The primary reason for using only one scripture is so it would fit better with Denominational Doctrine. This is another example of how man has twisted God’s Word to fit his own religious beliefs.) When you look at all three (3) passages the full message of the “Great Commission” goes like this. In no way have I changed any wording, nor have I added to or took away any words from the scripture. All I have done is rearranged the verses so that we can see a smooth conversation between Jesus and the Disciples.
Establishing Supreme Power
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them,
saying, All power is given unto me
in heaven and in earth.
Prophecy fulfilled
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Only Jesus can open our understanding of the Scriptures
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Jesus gives all Disciples a Command to do
15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
